Open Enrollment June 16 - August 15
The annual open enrollment period is now open. This is a changes only open enrollment; you do not need to take any action if you would like your current elections to continue into the new plan year.
Full-time Faculty may elect to make changes to medical plans (effective 10/1/2025) and dental and vision (effective 1/1/2026).
Please use the forms available below to make plan changes or to add/remove a dependent. Completed forms must be received by Human Resources no later than 5:00 pm on Friday August 15, 2025. Submit forms via our secure dropbox at:
Changes to Medical plans effective 10/1/2025:
- Rates increase to all plans
- New plan option:
- Proactive Care Plan – No deductibles/No copay (see plan summary for more details)
Changes to Vision and Dental plans effective 1/1/2026:
- All Dental plans allowances are increased by $500 and deductibles are being eliminated.
- Vision:
- The frame allowance under VSP will increase from $270 to $320 (featured brands) and $250 to $300 (all brands) with no increase in premium!
- Light Care Benefits are being added, this will allow the frame allowance to be used for non-prescription blue light and sunglasses.
Part-Time Faculty Benefit Eligibility
New part-time faculty may enroll, if eligible, during the first 30 days of the semester or at Open Enrollment. Part-time faculty can qualify in one of two ways and must not be receiving health insurance coverage from another employer either directly, as a spouse, domestic partner, or as a dependent:
- Have a teaching assignment equal or greater than forty percent (40%) for the semester.
- Maintain an average forty percent (40%) or greater teaching assignment over the previous two consecutive semesters.
- Meet load requirement
HR will analyze the eligibility of all part-time faculty in the first week of each semester. Eligible faculty will be contacted.
The insurance year for SISC medical insurance runs from October 1st to September 30th. The insurance year for Dental and Vision insurance runs from January 1st to December 31st. There will be one Open Enrollment period for all insurance coverage each year in June-August. Eligible part-time faculty who have previously declined coverage may enroll during Open Enrollment, or at a qualifying life event.
Medical, dental and vision coverage is available for spouses/domestic partners and dependent children (up to the age 26).

The fringe contribution is a District provided amount designed to offset the cost of health and welfare benefits for each qualified employee and their eligible dependents. Please see the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for more information on this contribution.

Vision Insurance is offered through VSP. Please see plan documents for more information.
Dental Insurance is offered through Delta Dental. There is a two-year enrollment commitment; you will not be allowed to cancel coverage until you have been on the plan for two years. If you do cancel your coverage, you will not be allowed to re-enroll for two years.

All employees are eligible to invest a portion of their wages into a voluntary retirement investment via payroll deduction. Contributions can be made to a 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan and/or a 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan. Please contact Envoy Plan Services with questions or to enroll.
