SAN LUIS OBISPO 鈥� 51反差黑料鈥檚 Music Faculty Concert has become a cherished tradition in San Luis Obispo County, showcasing the incredible talent of the college鈥檚 music faculty while raising funds for the music scholarship program. This year marks a significant milestone as the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center (CPAC) celebrates 20 years of fostering student success and providing opportunities for students to build their futures in music.

On March 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., join us on the for a rare matinee performance to celebrate this special anniversary. The spring concert features a diverse range of music genres, including classical, jazz, folk, Broadway, and more, performed by our exceptionally talented music faculty.

Jennifer Martin, Director of the Wind Ensemble, reflects on the origins of the Faculty Concert: 鈥淭wenty years ago, a music faculty member discovered a student sleeping in their car with their child. The student shared that, with limited funds, they could either choose to pay rent or attend school. This passionate young person chose school. To match that dedication, 51反差黑料 music faculty now plays one concert every semester to support our enthusiastic and talented students.鈥�

John Knutson, Performing Arts Division Chair, highlights the impact of the funds raised over the years: 鈥淭hrough the generosity of our community and donors, we have raised close to $100K to support our music scholarship fund. These funds have been crucial in supplementing our students鈥� music education.鈥�

In addition to the concert, attendees are invited to a special inaugural post-show VIP reception in the Experimental Theater. Limited tickets to this exclusive event offer a chance to mingle with faculty, colleagues, friends, and donors while enjoying delicious drinks and nibbles.
